Do you place Excelsior students in every state?
Yes. We source mentors and practice-experience sites in all 50 states. Each state page covers the nursing board that licenses you, the kinds of agencies that host practice experiences there, and how placement works locally.
Does my practice experience have to be in the state where I am licensed?
Usually yes, because you complete it as a licensed nurse and the host agency will verify your license. If you hold licenses in more than one state, or you are in a compact state, tell us and we will map the options.
Is this a clinical rotation?
No. Excelsior graduate nursing is indirect care, so a practice experience is built around an independent project with a master's prepared mentor. See practice experience vs clinical rotation for the honest difference.
