The Georgia Board of Nursing and the license behind your placement

Georgia has depth in all three. The Atlanta metro carries Emory Healthcare, Piedmont Healthcare, Wellstar Health System, Grady Health System, and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Northeast Georgia Health System in Gainesville, Augusta University Health, Atrium Health Navicent in Macon, Memorial Health in Savannah, Phoebe Putney in Albany, and Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick run the same functions smaller, which often means a shorter path to whoever can say yes.
Nursing programs are the other reliable source, especially for education. Aim your capstone project at something the site can keep: an onboarding module for a medical surgical unit in Savannah, a dashboard showing a Gainesville director where her falls cluster, a documentation redesign that gives a rural clinic back twenty minutes a shift. Sites approve faster when the ask sounds like help rather than homework.
Remote work, hybrid arrangements, and getting unstuck
Indirect care travels well. Curriculum writing, data analysis, policy work, and quality improvement can often be done partly from home when the site and your faculty both agree, which matters when a student in Valdosta or Brunswick is two hours from the nearest formal informatics team. Ask your program first, get it in writing, and never count hours nobody approved.
